McDeeds Creek Elementary Awarded Fifth National Showcase Award

McDeeds Creek Elementary School has been named a 2024-2025 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School, a prestigious honor awarded to campuses

that demonstrate excellence in building a culture where students feel safe, connected, and engaged. This is the 5th year in a row that McDeeds Creek has been awarded this recognition since opening in 2019. The Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® Award recognizes schools that go above and beyond in creating an environment where students thrive academically and emotionally. Through the Capturing Kids’ Hearts® Process, educators at McDeeds Creek have been equipped with relationship-building tools and processes that help them foster student success and a positive campus culture. Each year, Capturing Kids’ Hearts recognizes schools across the country for their commitment to transforming their campus environments through a relational approach to education. Schools that receive this designation have shown measurable progress in student connectedness, academic achievement, and overall school culture.

"We opened McDeeds Creek with the Capturing Kids' Hearts process - teaching the difference between the minimum, average, and excellent leaders/mindsets,” said Dr. Molly Capps, Principal at McDeeds Creek Elementary. “We pride ourselves on not just seeing the good in others, but affirming them as often as possible. Staff and children lead with grace and forgiveness while also setting goals as individuals and as a high-performing team. When I see our McDeeds children and staff members interacting with each other every day, I am constantly reminded that the best is yet to come."
