Mustangs Recap - March 15- 21

Monday was a wash as storms rolled through, but once the Mustangs got back on the field it was a packed and action filled week across multiple sports.

Tennis (1-1 this week)

The guys are 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference where they sit at the top.

Tuesday vs O’Neal – L 6-3

Wednesday vs Jordan-Matthews – W 6-3

  • Singles:

    • Ed De La Cruz (7-5, 7-6 (9-7))

    • Andrew Moore (6-0, 6-0)

  • Doubles:

Baseball (1-2 this week)

The Mustangs are 4-4 overall and 1-1 in 4 Rivers Conference where they currently are in 2nd place.

Wednesday @ Uwharrie Charter – L 13-0

Friday vs Uwharrie Charter – L 11-0

Softball (2-1 this week)

The Lady Mustangs are now 4-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play. They are currently in 5th place in the conference.

Tuesday vs Chatham Charter – W 16-10

Wednesday @ Uwharrie Charter – W 9-6

Friday vs Uwharrie Charter – L 20-6

Soccer (1-0 this week)

The Lady Mustangs are 4-1 overall and have not started conference play. They are top of the 4 Rivers Conference with a four-game win streak. They are sitting in 103rd spot in the state and are in 8th place in 3A standings.

Weekly Takeaway:
A strong bounce back week despite the weather delay. Big offensive performances from baseball and softball early in the week, tennis grabbed a solid conference win, and soccer stayed dominant with a 9-goal showing. Plenty to build on heading into next week.
