2025 Fall Championship Dates and Locations
CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association is excited to announce the locations and dates of the 2025 fall sports championships.
Due to the expansion to eight classifications, many championships have expanded from one-day events to two-day events and will utilize multiple sites.
Burlington Tennis Center will once again play host to the NCHSAA’s dual team tennis championship matches as well as the 3A and 4A individual state tournaments. The 1A and 2A individual tournaments will be held at the Cary Tennis Center, 5A and 6A at Ting Park in Holly Springs and the 7A and 8A at Millbrook-Exchange in Raleigh.
The women’s golf championships will add a new venue again this year as the 1A/2A Championships will be played at Gates Four Golf and Country Club in Fayetteville. Gates Four hosted a men’s championship in the spring, but this will be the first women’s championship held at the course. Sapona Golf Club in Lexington will host the 7A Championship. The 3A and 4A Championships will return to Longleaf Golf and Family Club and 5A and 6A Championships will be held at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe.
The 8A Championships will be played at Pinehurst No. 6. Since the women’s championships left Finley Golf Course in 2000, No. 6 has been the most frequent host and 2025 will be the tenth time.
For the fifth season in a row, volleyball championships will be held at Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of N.C. State University on November 1. The first day of volleyball championships, October 31, will be contested at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. Also, on October 31 and November 1, Cross County Championships return to the Ivey Redmon Complex in Kernersville for the 13th championship in a row and 16th consecutive time in Kernersville.
The men’s soccer championships will be contested at Appenzeller Field at the Armfield Athletic Center on the campus of Guilford College for the first time this year. The men’s soccer championship was held in Guilford County in 2022 and 2023 at MacPherson Stadium before moving to the Mecklenburg SportsPlex in Matthews last season.
The Cheerleading Invitational Championship remains at the Raleigh Convention Center where it has been contested for most of its history. 2025 will be the fifth consecutive Championship at the Raleigh Convention Center since it was hosted at Southern Alamance High School in the spring of 2021.
The football championships will be held at Kenan Stadium, Durham County Memorial Stadium and Helen & Leonard Moretz Stadium on the campus of Lenior-Rhyne University. Kenan Stadium will host four games this year, bringing the total number of NCHSAA Football Championship Games held there to 88, dating back to 1929. Durham County and Moretz Stadium will each host their first two NCHSAA Championship Games this year. The classifications and game times for each site will be determined at a later date.
