Union Pines soccer falls while North Moore gets a home win Tuesday night.

Union Pines men’s soccer did not open conference play the way they expected to. The Vikings traveled to Lee County for their first conference game of the season and were defeated 0-4. The Vikings went into the game 2-4 in the season. The Viking soccer team is now 2-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Union Pines will travel to 4-3-1 Seaforth tonight for a non-conference match up.

North Moore Mustangs continue their undefeated season. The Mustangs defeated Southeast Alamance in a home conference match up.

“Great hard-earned win last night for the Mustangs men’s soccer team to continue their winning streak. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams finishing solid opportunities, but the Mustangs stayed in it until the whistle was blown,” said coach Peralta. “A late goal scored by Eric Flores, assisted by Christopher Betancourt from a cross, earned the Mustangs the win in the last minute & 15 seconds of the game!”

Goals scored by:

-Robert Ramirez

-Esteban Pulido (Player of the Game)

The Mustangs are now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference, sitting in the third spot. They will host 3-0-1 Jordan-Mathews Thursday night at home in what should shape up to be a great match and set the conference rankings.

Pinecrest 5-1 will travel to Richmond 2-2 tonight for a conference match.
