Sandhills Bogeys Enter Final Stretch with Coastal Division Crown in Sight
After last night’s 15-12 win over Oak Island, two games are remaining, and both are at home this weekend. The Sandhills Bogeys have been making one final push for the Coastal Division title—and it all comes down to this weekend.
After a rollercoaster summer of explosive offense, clutch pitching, and passionate home crowds, the Bogeys are in the Old North State League Playoffs, but what seed and where will they play? That’s what makes both home games on Friday and Saturday so important.
“I think the season has gone well,” said Head Coach Andy Fox. “We’ve had some ups and downs for sure. But all in all, it’s been fun. Our guys play hard and play the game the right way. They’re a fun group to coach and be around.”
Playoff Picture Heating Up
The Coastal Division standings are razor-tight, but the Bogeys remain firmly in the hunt.
“We’re hanging around first or second. Right where we want to be,” Fox said. “We just keep taking it one game at a time. Doesn’t matter who we’re playing. If it’s a division game, it’s important.”
Win both, and the Bogeys could be hanging a division title once again.
“We can’t overemphasize certain games over others. All division games are important,” Fox emphasized. “We’re definitely banged up right now. We’ve been hit with some injuries, for sure. Guys just have to step up and get it done. Next guy up mentality.”
Star Power and Team Chemistry
While injuries have tested the roster, players have stepped up across the board—none more than Logan Dyer, from Catawba. His presence at the plate has ignited the offense and made him one of the league’s most dangerous hitters.
Add in a focused dugout, consistent coaching, and strong team culture, and it’s clear the Bogeys are peaking at just the right time.
Bogey Ballpark Ready for a Finale
As the season draws to a close, Fox issued a rallying cry to the Sandhills community.
“The more fans we have, the more support we feel. More people for Bogeyman to get fired up,” he said. “Plus, the boys love playing in front of big crowds. This is the last week of the regular season, so we need everyone to come out and help us get across the finish line.”
With the Old North State League playoffs looming next week, the final stretch isn’t just about standings—it’s about momentum, pride, and community.
Both games begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, and fireworks are planned for after the game.
