Father Capodanno earns big win Friday
Father Vincent Capodanno High School earned their first win of the season with a 51 to 38 win over a very athletic Wayne Prep Academy Generals. The Grunts are now 1-1 on the season and take on Liberty Christian Academy on September 5th. Offensive coordinator Paul Lehto had the Grunts offense firing on all cylinders.
Freshman quarterback Tim Jennings passed for 236 Yards and 2 TDs. He also rushed for a 10-yard TD.
Junior Captain Canon Capps had 239 all-purpose yards. He accumulated 123 receiving yards with 2 receiving TDs. He ran for 116 yards and a 3rd TD.
Sophomore Daniel Attar rushed for 131 yards and 3 TDs. Daniel had 1 interception, 1 caused fumble, and multiple pass breakups and the defensive side of the ball.
Junior Landon Rizzo ran for a TD. Landon also had 1 interception and broke up multiple pass attempts on the defensive side of the ball.
The Grunts battled back and forth with the Generals throughout the entire game before sealing the victory in the 4th quarter, kneeling to close out a great Grunt victory. The players and coaching staff want to thank the community for all the support.
