Mustangs Weekly Recap - 5/2
It was a challenging but competitive week for North Moore, highlighted by a postseason win and several tough matchups across multiple sports.
The week started strong for the Mustangs softball team, who picked up a 4-3 win over Jordan-Matthews in the first round of the conference tournament, improving to 7-12 at the time. However, their postseason run was short-lived, as they fell 10-0 to Southwestern Randolph in the second round, closing the week at 7-13 (4-8).
Baseball saw its season come to an end after a 7-4 loss to Eastern Randolph in the opening round of the conference tournament, finishing with a 5-14 record.
On the soccer field, North Moore faced a difficult stretch, dropping three matches during the week. The Mustangs fell 5-1 to Uwharrie Charter, followed by a narrow 3-2 loss to Northwood, and then another matchup against Northwood ended in a 3-1 loss, bringing their record to 10-6-1 (3-4).
In tennis, the dual team made it to the second round before falling 5-1 to Northwood, while earlier in the week they awaited results from the conference championship in Siler City.
Track and field also competed in the conference championships, though results were not reported.
Despite the ups and downs, North Moore showed resilience throughout the week, competing hard in both postseason and regular season play.
